  • On Monday the year 7s faced their first opponents since joining DSTC where they came up against a strong and well organised Farringtons side. The game started with both teams fighting for possession of the ball with Farringtons coming out on top by leading 1-0 early on. The girls battled hard in for the rest half and found themselves a goal down at the break. A positive team talk and some encouragement all round the girls started the 2nd half strong but again conceded an excellent strike to find themselves 2-0 down. Some changes and fresh legs saw the girls get in control of the football match and after 2 wonderful strikes from Holly B and Ankita N we were level. The last 15 were very tense and the girls battled hard and in the final moments Nancy C let fly from 35 yards to see her shot sail into the goal and win the girls the match, the celebrations matched with the girls hugging and congratulating her. After a couple of tense minutes the referee blew the final whistle and the girls had completed an amazing comeback to see themselves into the next round of the Kent cup. #WIN

  • Afterschool on Tuesday saw our Year 9 netballers play their first two games of the season. We initially played The Leigh and our squad looked very spritely and enthusiastic, intercepting many passes and working well driving into the spaces and pockets around the semi circle. We won this game 19-0, with some versatile positioning and excellent shooting from our player of the match, Ruby. The second game brought an array of challeneges as the opposition, Mayfield Grammar, displayed some fantastic teamwork and tactical knowledge throughout the match. Our players were pushed to their limits and dug deep showing resilience and battled to the end to attain a commendable defeat with the score of 12-6. Isla was voted by the opposition as the player of the match.
